That was easy!

That was easy!

I am maintaining this blog to provide myself with points of reference in my life. This year I am turning 30. I have several goals set out for myself. I have this feeling that life will only get better after 30. Oh how grand!
    Goals:
  1. Climb Mount Whitney

  2. Increase my endurance enough to be able to run a half marathon

  3. Pass my quals

  4. Continue to enjoy life

Here I am at the summit of Mount San Gorgonio. A "that was easy button" was waiting for me at the top. So I am thinking when I finish all of the above, I should press that button, right?

Mimulus shevockii is now in bloom

Mimulus shevockii is now in bloom. This is a photo from my last visit to Kelso Valley. I expect the species will be in peak bloom in about a week or so. I plan to do another round of surveys April 5th. I will do more pollinator observations, and will census as many populations as possible in days work. Hopefully the weather stays cool and will prolong the season. I would hate to miss out on collecting seeds this year!

Hey, check this out. I was featured in a Los Angels Times article on wildflowers in California!

Speaking of wildflowers I am headed in for a field trip on Monday. I hope to come back with lots of pretty pictures. Yay!
