naomi's log.

I like to blog, or as I like to call it naomi/log or nlog for short. I have been doing it for some time. This use to be naomilog.com but, I forgot to renew it and some JERK company swiped it from under my feet. Yes, I am bitter.

Never the less, we move on.

Through reading my blog you will learn these 10 things about me.

  1. I am incredibly narcissistic.

  2. I dislike people.

  3. My pets are the most important thing to me.

  4. I generally don't like people.

  5. I don't have friends.

  6. I hate people.

  7. people suck.

  8. I wish I were funny.

  9. I amuse no one, including you.

  10. I work with plants because I can't deal with people.

This is all I have to say about blogging, or nloging.

I have a computer, his name is Gromit, he is 2 years and 4 months old. Gromit and I have been through a lot together. We have collaborated on presentations, my Masters thesis, and he has held my picture archive for work. It is through gromit, that I can use awesome apps like SubEthaEdit, cyberduck, Keynote, Itunes, and Iphoto. In short, Gromit is a lean, mean computing machine. I love Gromit dearly, but this morning I had to pull the plug on him. He is now resting in computer heaven (temporarily).

These are the course of events, which ultimately let to the death of Gromit.
On Monday morning I woke up, checked my e-mail. It was then I heard his brain making noises. He was clicking at me and I knew then it was his hard drive failing. I backed up my data right away, and watched him deteriorate slowly. Tuesday he was still alive, as far as I could tell, he was still clicking and I knew it was only a matter of time. This morning he was no longer responsive. I shut him down for the last time.

Gromit will be having brain surgery next week. he will come back bigger and better than ever. Gromits brain capacity will increase 2x, and all the apps will be freshly installed and he will be running a brand new OS; Tiger.

I am happy that Gromit and I will be reunited in the end. He is a small and good machine. He is my first over 1k purchase, and for that he will always have a special place in my heart.

The next time I write, I will be writing to you via Gromit. He is missed, but he will be back.

I once had a mouse named reynaldo; sadly she died. Two years ago I adopted two mice to fill reynaldo's cage, malora and my little raisin. Malora was the first to go, she was the best little mouse. Fat mouse (aka little raisin) and I had a few months to ourselves and I got very attached to her. Last week fat mouse died. My heart is broken. My little companions are gone. They lived a long and good life; they loved each other and I would like to think they loved me too.

I adopted another mouse to keep the little raisin company in her last days. She is a wild and crazy mouse, and she hates me. She has no name, and she will never compare to my three pets I loved so dearly. Perhaps crazy mouse and I will learn to love each other, but for now my apartment feels sad and alone with out the fat one.

RIP
