Mimulus research begins...
In an effort to organize my dissertation research I have created a website for one of my many projects (the website is skeletal at the moment). Mimulus shevockii (shown here) will be the focus of at least one chapter of my dissertation. About a month ago I gave a presentation to one the California Native Plant Society chapters. Several of the members happen to live near M. shevockii habitat and have volunteered to help. With the hope that plants will germinate this year it should be a fun field season. I am looking forward to getting started, I just hope I can manage it all with the added work load of my day job.
footnote:
I finished my first semester of grad school (two gold stars for me). It was a little challenging to balance work and school, but I made it! If I can survive and meet my deadlines this spring I should get an A++ in project management.
