I study monkeyflowers (family Phrymaceae), in which there are many species that were formerly treated in the genus
Mimulus. See
Barker et al. 2012 for modified taxonomic concepts. My dissertation focused on systematics and taxonomy in
Erythranthe section
Paradantha, however my current work is focused more broadly on taxonomy in North American Phrymaceae. I have ongoing projects investigating aspects of floral diversity, including flower color polymorphism. I am also intersted in contributing towards ongoing efforts to resolve species relationships within the family, including understanding species diversity and improving taxonomic classifcation.
